Dreep has three plans. Free costs $0 with 1 GB of storage and 100 image transformations a month. Starter is $2.99 a month and Pro is $5.99 a month, with 10 GB and 50 GB of storage, higher transformation quotas and the option to keep files in your own S3 or R2 bucket. Reaching a limit never adds a surprise charge: you buy an add-on or upgrade.

What happens when you reach a limit

Limits are enforced per project. Nothing is charged automatically when you reach one.

The request is refused, with a clear error

A request that would exceed a quota returns HTTP 402 with error code LIMIT_EXCEEDED and the feature key. The JavaScript SDK raises DreepLimitError with featureKey, used and limit, so you can handle it in code.

No automatic overage

Dreep does not bill usage above your plan on its own. You decide: buy an add-on pack, add recurring storage, or move to a larger plan.

Check usage before it matters

GET /api/v1/usage returns current usage next to your limits (getUsage in the JavaScript SDK, GetUsage in Go). Poll it from a cron job and alert before a quota runs out.

Your own bucket changes the storage line

With BYOB, files are stored in your bucket and billed by your provider. They do not count towards the Dreep storage quota. Transformations still count towards plan quotas.

Two realistic workloads, priced with the plans and add-ons above. Your numbers will differ, so the assumptions are stated first.

Marketplace: 2,000 new listings a month

Assumptions

  • 2,000 new listings a month, 5 photos each: 10,000 uploads, stored as uploaded.
  • Each photo is shown in 4 sizes (thumbnail, card, gallery, zoom): 40,000 variants a month.
  • Each variant is generated once and then served from cache, so it counts as one image transformation.
  • Originals average 1.5 MB: about 15 GB of new Dreep storage each month.

Pro costs less here and needs no add-ons. Storage grows by about 15 GB a month, so around month four you pass 50 GB. At that point add +50 GB for $3.99 a month, or keep storage on your own bill by connecting your bucket to a new project.

SaaS: 8,000 uploads a month on your own R2 bucket

Assumptions

  • 8,000 uploads a month: 4,000 images (avatars, screenshots) and 4,000 documents (PDF, DOCX, CSV).
  • Each image is shown in 2 sizes: 8,000 image transformations. Documents are delivered as uploaded and use no transformations.
  • Uploads average 2 MB: about 16 GB of new storage each month.
  • Four people need dashboard access, within Starter's five team members.

Your own bucket does not make storage free: you pay your provider. It does keep files in an account you control and keeps the Dreep bill flat as storage grows. The bucket has to be connected while the project is empty.

Is there a free plan?

Yes. Free costs $0 and includes 1 GB of Dreep storage, 100 image transformations and 20 video transformations a month, 3 presets and one team member. Bring your own bucket is not available on Free, and free accounts can create a limited number of free projects.

What counts as a transformation?

A request that returns a resized, cropped or converted variant counts as one transformation, as does a transform applied at upload. Image and video transformations are counted against separate monthly quotas. Variants are generated on the first request and cached afterwards.

What happens if I go over a limit?

The request that would exceed the limit returns error code LIMIT_EXCEEDED. Dreep never adds overage charges automatically. You can buy an add-on, such as a one-time pack of 50,000 image transformations for $2.99, or upgrade your plan.

How does bring your own bucket affect what I pay?

BYOB needs Starter or Pro. Files are written to your S3, R2, Wasabi, DigitalOcean Spaces, MinIO or other S3-compatible bucket, so your provider bills you for storage and they do not count towards the Dreep storage quota. Transformations still count towards your plan's quotas.

Do add-ons renew every month?

Storage add-ons (+10 GB, +50 GB, +100 GB) and the +5 team members add-on recur monthly. Image transformation, video transformation, OCR page and background-removal packs are one-time purchases.

How much does yearly billing save?

Starter costs $29 a year instead of $35.88 billed monthly, and Pro costs $59 a year instead of $71.88. That is roughly 19% and 18% off respectively.

Are prices shown in my local currency?

This page shows USD. Regional pricing exists for some countries, including Nigeria, and the dashboard shows the price in local currency when you subscribe.
